Problem
Users struggle to create stylish, coordinated outfits from their existing wardrobe, leading to decision fatigue and underutilization of their clothing items. This daily challenge results in wasted time and money as people strive for the perfect outfit.
Solution
We developed a fashion app that utilizes AI to generate and recommend outfits from users' existing wardrobes while expressing their personal style efficiently.

Impact
After implementing our redesigned high-fidelity prototype: 90% of users were able to navigate through the app's functions easily, compared to 30% with the initial design. 80% stated they will be less likely to make unnecessary clothing purchases with this app.
The data speaks:
Understanding Statistic on Consumer Behavior Regarding Clothing Purchases
The research aims to evaluate how fashion and shopping influence users' consumer behaviors. Here are some relevant statistics related to fashion and consumer behavior:

-
54% of consumers made clothing purchases as impulse buys, indicating a strong tendency to buy new items even when their closet is already full (ICSC, 2022)

-
80% of people felt they had a full closet but often struggled to find outfits they liked. This statistic underscores the common issue of feeling like there's nothing to wear despite a large wardrobe (Stitch Fix, 2022)

-
Despite increasing awareness about the environmental impact of fast fashion, 58% of consumers still bought new clothing items frequently, driven by trends and perceived novelty (McKinsey & Company, 2023)

"I would love to try new outfits and mix and match new combinations occasionally, but I don't have much knowledge and difficult to keep pace with fashion trends."

"It's hard to find a platform that can tailor and ensembles based on specific styles, body types, occasions."
Problem Statement
How might we establish an effective system that can help users effortlessly create stylish ensembles, reducing the time spent on decision-making and boosting their confidence in daily fashion choices?

Takeaways
Developing an intuitive design with streamlined features for a fashion app presented significant challenges. Through collaborative efforts, rigorous usability testing, and data-driven A/B experiments, we successfully transformed complex user pain points into an engaging, user-friendly app experience.

Future enhancements include implementing a reality and 360-degree view Dressing Room avatar to improve outfit visualization, and integrating a travel feature for destination-specific wardrobe curation. These additions aim to further personalize the user experience and expand the app's functionality.
